Erlangen, briefly

10/22/11 20:26

I had the opportunity to see Erlangen (approx. 100,000 people) briefly when my friend and guide was attending a class there. I missed a few sights, but I think I got the gist: a lovely little German college town.

Christian and I drove to Erlangen from Wurzburg, I looked around for about an hour while he was in class, and then we departed. In that short time, I wasn't able to see too much, and missed a few important things like the Erlangen Castle, but I still was taken in by the city's warm welcome and charactered historic buildings. I found the modernized shopping streets to be very safe and attractively nestled between what seemed like old high streets. Though I don't know what most of these are, I would have liked more time to stare at them.
