Bavaria contained some of my favorite sights, tastes (THE BEER!), and vibes in Europe. This post will show a few highlights of Wurzburg, and one to follow will be of Erlangen and Romhild.

Because castles are not a common occurrence in North America, my childhood desire to see all things Medieval was never really satisfied... until now! I had to get into this hilltop castle, Fortress Marienberg:

Situated on the river Main, all sides of this castle provide excellent views of Wurzburg and down into the valleys surrounding the hill it sits on:
